Ellard takes over job as university's new CFO

Mark D. Ellard has an impressive resume. The recently appointed Vice President of Administration and Chief Financial Officer has worked in the Alabama Community College System for more than 20 years in various roles.  Prior to that, Ellard worked as a state college auditor. He is also a big Rush fan, a drummer and a certified public accountant.

Square Enix has officially released the latest installment of the convoluted storyline that is the “Kingdom Hearts” saga. The 2019 release of this highly-anticipated game caused a huge stir in the gaming community. The release itself resulted in cheers, arguments and everything in between.  During the first week of its release, “Kingdom Hearts III” sold more than 5 million copies worldwide.

'Captain Marvel' Soars High

“Captain Marvel” is the newest entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It is an origin story that relates the genesis of Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), who used to be a U.S. Air Force Pilot named Carol Danvers. Carol is now a warrior for the Kree. Under the leadership of Yon-Rogg (Jude Law), she fights in their intergalactic struggle against the shape-shifting Skrulls, led by Talos (Ben Mendelsohn).

Mississippi University for Women held the inauguration of its 15th President, Nora Miller, on Feb. 1. President Miller was previously the vice president for administration and the chief financial officer at MUW, but after standing in as acting president this past semester, she became the first alumna of MUW to hold the full title role as university president.
