“The LEGO Movie” Review

Debuting at the top of the box office this weekend, “The LEGO Movie” earns its spot among the great animated films.

 

The story follows Emmet, a regular worker who discovers he is the “Special” one destined to save the world from Lord Business, who wants to glue everything together.

Did you miss out on the registration for 3-on-3 basketball? Well not to worry, the Intramural Sports Office is holding registration for 5-on-5 basketball right now. Registration will run from Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 8 a.m. until Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 5 p.m. Registration for Eclipse Ball is going on now. The registration for that will run from Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 8 a.m. until Thursday, Feb. 6, at 5 p.m. The Eclipse Ball tournament will be held on Friday, Feb. 7, at 1 p.m.  To get more information regarding the requirements for registration, visit the campus website below.

Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle’s Second Annual Sweetheart Basket fundraiser is underway. With Valentine’s Day approaching, this is a great way to try to win a great gift for your sweetheart and benefit a great cause, Relay for Life. These baskets are a fun way to get involved with the hospital staff and the community.

Making the cut: 2014 boot camp

On Jan. 27, MUW launched its 2014 boot camp session. The program was inspired by instructor Morgan Sellers, who had previous experience in Jackson, Miss., with Paul Lacoste Sport’s boot camp. For a year, Sellers was involved in the program and found it very effective. She believed this was the kind of program that needed to be introduced to the W.

New online tutoring method coming soon to MUW students

The Center for Academic Excellence, located in Reneau Hall, is considering a new method for students who are in need of tutoring. They will be using Google Hangouts, which is a video collaboration tool that allows registered users to have real-time communication. It allows for different activities such as viewing others on a webcam, sharing YouTube videos, writing on Microsoft Word, etc. It works on computers as well as Android and Apple devices.
