Spotlights burned high above the edge of downtown Columbus last Saturday night on Oct. 19. Monsters, childhood creations and hopeless souls from beyond the grave gathered inside The Princess Theater. It was the annual Halloween Dance Party. This year the theme was comic books. And as promised, Team Halloweenz, produced a 24-feet-by-24 feet comic book that towered behind the DJ booth which depicted Captain Halloween’s fight with the Full Moon Fang.

 Every October, all major networks play horror film marathons, going through the same classics year after year. When people are asked what horror movies are the best to watch, the usual responses are “Friday the 13th” and “Halloween.” More recently, the answers have moved to “Insidious” and “Paranormal Activity.” Here are a few other horror films that are worth watching.

The Princess Theater will hold its annual Halloween dance party Saturday, Oct. 19. This year the theme is comic books, or as their slogan says “Captain Halloween saves the Dance Hall of Justice from the Full Moon Fang.”  The dance show will be produced by GTR Productions and will boast a roster of seven DJ’s. I caught up with the creative director and DJ Blaine Garrard a.k.a. Garranimo.

With the government shutting down and work often harder to come by, people are definitely out searching for jobs so they can provide for their families.

Each year MUW hosts an annual Golden Triangle Employment Expo for students and the community to have an opportunity to meet with several potential employers in one location. On Oct. 2, Pohl Gymnasium was flooded with more than 50 employers, ranging from manufacturing to professional.
