It’s time to pull out your Uggs, scarves and oversized sweaters, ladies. Fall has finally arrived!
Not only is the weather beautiful, clothing seems to be as well. Southern women seem to have a love for adding a scarf to every outfit during this time of year. I didn’t hesitate to do so with mine, either.

Tackles, crashing hamlets and knocking players down is what Denzell Becker is known for on the field. After high school, Becker wasn’t offered a scholarship to play SEC football, so instead he came to MUW and got involved in intermural sports. Of course, flag football is nothing compared to the SEC, but he had to make the best of it.

The Student Government Association launched a Virtual Treasure Hunt on Thursday, Sept. 12, to encourage participation in the student election.

What could make “Fried Chicken Tuesday” better? The answer is simple — just add entertainment.
The Student Programming Board at Mississippi University for Women was introduced to the idea of combining great food and music during lunch while attending an Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities spring conference. “Tunes at Noon” was created with the students in mind to give them a little more relaxation as they consumed their lunches.

Every August, the Ina E. Gordy Honors College kicks off the fall semester with Honors Forum.
“The purpose is to provide a challenging educational program for the honor students approximately every other week. The meetings may include a variety of activities, such as formal presentations, cultural events and discussions,” said Thomas Velek, director of the Ina E. Gordy Honors College.

Fall semester has been going for less than a month, but the theater department is already preparing for the first production of the school year.
According to Thomas Parsons, a senior theater major, the department is planning to perform “The Good Doctor,” penned by the Oscar-nominated writer Neil Simon.

MUW’s new coordinator of student activities, Elise Wilson, can be seen around campus most of the time. Unknown to most, she was actually a student at the W not too long ago. That’s right. She started her freshman year in August of 2004 and graduated in May of 2008 with a bachelors of arts in history.
