The W's Theatre Department to put on Zoom play this month

The W theatre department is putting on a play called “She Kills Monsters, Virtual Realm.” The play is based on Dungeons and Dragons and follows the journey of an older sister as she learns more about her younger sister, who died in a car accident.

Mississippians to vote on new flag

The events of the past few years have caused many Mississippians to reconsider the design of the state flag. For many people, the Confederate symbology within the flag that had been used since 1894 was misrepresentative of the majority of current Mississippi residents. For them, the Confederate battle flag symbolizes hate and division.

October is a bit different for the Mississippi University for Women campus. In the past, the campus has celebrated Oktoberfest, which draws a crowd of students and many residents of Columbus. Activities such as costume and pumpkin-carving contests, apple bobbing, and other games are enjoyed.

To accurately follow these recommendations set by the governing officials, Owls Athletics has chosen to cease competition for the Fall 2020 semester. Although competitions will not be happening, teams are permitted to practice following the NCAA guidelines for social distancing and testing.

The film premiered on Disney+ on Sept. 4, but it was only available to subscribers after an additional $30 premium access charge.
